Guyane Kourou Biomasse

Commissioned in 2009, the biomass power plant of Kourou is the first biomass power plant of Guiana. The roofs of the buildings of the power plant are equiped with around 2 000 m2 of integrated photovoltaic modules, of a total capacity of 185 kWc. This power plant « multi-energies » values more than 30 000 tons of wood wastes, issued from the main sawmills of Guiana, and produces the equivalent of the consumption of around 9800 people. Morever, It permits to avoid rejecting around 12 750 tCO2/yr in the atmosphere.
