Areia Branca

Areia Branca windfarm has a capacity of 90 MW consisting of of three windfarms of 30 MW, each having a contract of sale of 20 years won during auctions in 2011.

The supply of equipment and the construction involved several partner suppliers:

• The civil engineering tasks, in particular the excavation, the access roads, and the foundations of towers carrying the wind turbines, were carried-out by Cortez Engenharia, an experienced civil engineer based in Fortaleza (Brazil) deeply specialized on the wind market, having constructed the foundations of 1149 wind turbines to this day.
• The electrical infrastructures, in particular the transmission lignes, transformers and other substation equipments, were purchased and installed by WEG Equipamentos Eletricos, one of the Brazilian leaders in the supply of transport and electrical distribution equipments.
• The wind turbines and their towers were supplied and installed by Acciona Windpower, a global leader in the wind industry having a fabrication located in Brazil.
