LAGAZEL
Chamboeuf, FranceLAGAZEL is the first company to industrialize the production of solar lamps in Africa. LAGAZEL solar products are affordable and offer the best quality in the market: a metallic and unbreakable hull, 2-years warrantee, high-quality after-sale service. As far 2025, LAGAZEL expects 10 active manufacturing facilities and 1.3 million solar products sold in Africa.
LAGAZEL designs and manufactures environment-friendly, reliable and efficient products adapted to developing countries’ needs.
On top of that, LAGAZEL contributes to industrial expansion of developing countries by implementing LAGAZEL facilities-in-a-box (L-BOX) closed to final customers. With a production capacity of 50 000 to 200 000 lamps per year, a L-BOX facility consists of a production line, training modules for the team, sales-aid tools, and a repairing and dismantling line for end-of-life products. Contrary to most players in the photovoltaic sector that offer poor quality products made in Asia, LAGAZEL business model contributes to create jobs locally, to reduce environmental impact of the logistics chain, while offering a high-quality after-sale service to customers. Through its facilities implemented close to final customers, LAGAZEL is also able to design solutions in response to basic needs of the population and to collect and dismantle end-of-life products.
LAGAZEL solar lanterns passed Lighting Global Quality Tests, a quality proof required to enter some markets that would prevent competition with poor-quality solar products. KALO lamps are assembled with hardly-violable screws, so that ordinary people cannot open the lamp.
The LAGAZEL trademark is registered at African International Property Organization.
As far as L-BOX is concerned, LAGAZEL will open subsidies in new countries and develop partnerships with local players to manage the production facility, distribute the lamps and recycle end-of-life products. Therefore, LAGAZEL acts as an incubator of green products manufacturing facilities.
