Micro Renewable Energy Producers (EMPER)
Hahomegbe, TogoPhotovoltaic solar | Access to energy
The EMPER project aims to promote productive access to energy in 10 rural villages of the Plateaux region by deploying off-grid solar kiosks called ‘energy agencies’. The agencies are self-sufficient units equipped with solar production and storage systems, offering a point of sale and a set of business equipments (freezer, printer, TV) allowing productive and commercial activities. They are operated by rural entrepreneurs trained by Benoo and provided with digital tools for sales, supply management and business intelligence.
Detail of the equipment used
The energy agency is a standalone solar energy unit supplying electricity 24/24h. The system consists of a 1,5 kWc solar photovoltaïc generator, load control and protection system, AC/DC conversion devices and a battery storage system. The agency is fully digitalized, and includes a real-time monitoring system collecting technical and business data (energy production and consumption, sales, commercial margin etc.).
