upOwa is a Franco-Cameroonian company which develops and distributes solar systems adapted to the African context, based in Yaoundé (Cameroon). Its mission is to address the challenges to access affordable and quality energy in areas poorly served by the networks.
By mid-2021, upOwa has more than 400 employees, half of whom are technical and sales agents based in the field, recruited in the villages and trained to acquire new skills, in order to to collectively succeed in this mission. upOwa has equipped more than 30,000 sites, which represents nearly 200,000 people benefiting from reliable electricity on a daily basis. The majority of upOwa's clients are households working in all sectors of the economy, mainly in agriculture, but also employees of health centers, town halls or small businesses.
